About the Practitioner
Nicole Motter is a global leader in sound work, sought after by some of the most celebrated athletes, chart-topping teams, and other high-performers in the world. And she’s trailblazing new paths as the only certified sound practitioner specializing in athletic peak performance.
No stranger to high performance lifestyles herself, she spent much of her younger years attending top universities, competing for top spots in both community development and impact lawyering, and writing for Forbes and other noteworthy outlets - while simultaneously owning the stage as a fitness instructor for Fortune 500 companies.
She first fell in love with physical movement as way to break through barriers, mentally more than anything else. Through the course of her own wellness journey that ran simultaneously alongside all of the above, she gained tons of experience with alternative healing and performance modalities, experiencing firsthand more subtle forms of energy movement that unlocked newer, even more interesting doors — sound work being most profound. She became fascinated with its ability to break through deeper rooted barriers, those that exist stored in fascia, in thoughts, in the mind. And came to understand that the biggest source of strength, inspiration, and guidance is the ability to go back to the well and reconnect within. It became her mission to help other high-capacity people stay on top of their game, in whatever area they excel.
Over the course of the last eight years, she’s sought out and learned from some of the most renowned leaders out there - in sound work, flow state, and quantum physics and neuroscience. She’s pulled from different traditions, adapting and integrating what’s worked and what resonates, creating a total package that’s one-of-a-kind in the process.
Fluent in energetic levels of reconnecting to power and purpose — but also in sarcasm, plus a master of keeping it real and can still bust balls with the best of ‘em.
Real connection matters. With someone you actually vibe with matters even more.
Here’s why: The most effective intervention? The one they’ll actually do. Relatability matters, buy-in matters, a relationship to a real person they actually connect with and look forward to spending sessions with matters.
There’s no magic frequency you can listen to, despite what the apps will tell you. You need someone that can adapt to the needs of how a player’s showing up that day or the desired outcomes for a session. Different techniques, combinations of sounds, and intensities all create different benefits — and you need someone trained up hard to be able to respond in real time and deliver. There will never be a shortcut to anything worth having. Period.
Same way you might go through trainers or therapists until you click with the right one. When it hits, it hits.
A little American Christmas movie metaphor-humor for you
Sports and fitness have been always been ingrained in her life, playing competitive travel soccer/football in her younger years (grade A defender, y’all) and volleyball through high school.
While her focus shifted more fully to academics and career in college, she never lost her need for movement. She’s continued to train for new athletic pursuits and been a fitness instructor for big corporations like CNN and Coca Cola along the way, with daily sweat sessions forever non-negotiable.
And as for the culture of sport, it will always feel like home: the thrill of big wins, the drive for community, and the sense of place and purpose it brings.
